6 Months Ago Today

I remember exactly what was happening the moment the news came. It was Saturday night. I was frustrated, because I could not get my e-mail to work, and I was sitting at the computer. The girls were in bed already, and Leigh was in the living room doing stuff for work on his laptop (Yea, Saturday nights are pretty wild around here).

Leigh decided to check his e-mail before he went to take a shower, so he got the news first. He walked to where I was sitting, and I made some comment to him about how I could not believe we had not heard anything from our agency yet. It had been more than a month since they contacted us with the news that our file had been sent to St. Lucy's Center for approval, and that they expected to hear something within a week. Leigh figured that, since I was on the computer, I would be getting the good news for myself any moment. He offered a word or two of consolation and walked off.

A few minutes later, he returned from the shower, and I exclaimed in disgust that I still could not get my e-mail to work. He said, "Well, I have something I want to show you."
We sat on the bed with his laptop, and on the screen I saw this adorable face. This sweet little boy had been referred to us. Together, we looked at the other two photographs , and read the information provided. There was no doubt in our minds or our hearts that Yueh Hsiang Lee was the baby our Heavenly Father intended to have join our family.

That little baby gazing out at us from the computer looked so huggable. Since we couldn't hold him in our arms, we held him in our hearts, and he has been growing there ever since.
